The Department of Rural and Community Development announced details of the CLÁR programme for 2025 on April 4, 2025. CLÁR provides funding for small scale infrastructural projects in rural areas that have suffered significant levels of population decline. There is a national allocation of €11 million funding for community, sports and Island facilities for 2025 under three measures to be operated via Local Authorities and the Department of Rural and Community Development.  

The Measures funded under the 2025 CLÁR Programme are:

Measure 1: Developing Community Facilities & Amenities

Measure 2: Mobility, Cancer Care, Community First Responder and Meals on Wheels Transport

Measure 3: ‘Our Living Islands’
